Create Your Own Customized Run Commands

Hello Friends...

Most of you have used the Run Command on the Microsoft Windows operating system, which allows you to open an application directly from a single command instead of navigating to its location and double clicking the executable file. But it work only for some inbuilt windows programs like command prompt (cmd), calculator (calc), system configuration (msconfig), etc.
Have you ever wonder how to create your own Run Command to open your favorite programs?? If yes, here is the answer to your question..

Lets understand this process by taking the example to create a Run Command for Google Chrome.
  1. First of all Right click on the desktop and select New --> Shortcut.
  2. You will see a create shortcut dialog box.
  3. Now click on Browse and navigate to the executable file of the program you want to run (Google chrome in this case.) and click "Ok".
     "Computer-->C:\-->Program Files (x86)-->Google-->Chrome-->Application-->Chrome.exe"
  4. Now Click on "Next" and type a name for your shortcut. This name will be your Run Command. I use gc for this case.
  5. A shortcut with the name "gc" is created on the desktop. Copy this shortcut and paste in window folder (Usually "C:\Windows"). After that you can delete the shortcut from desktop if you want.
  6. That's it. Now open the Run dialog box (Window_key + R) and type the Name provided to the shortcut. (gc in this case), and hit enter.

    WOW... Google Chrome is open.
Now create as many Run commands  as you want and get fast access to your favorite Programs...
